Land Rover has officially unveiled the all-new Land Rover Defender OCTA 2025, setting new benchmarks in the luxury SUV segment with its combination of rugged capability, cutting-edge technology, and exhilarating performance. Designed for those who demand power, versatility, and refinement, the Defender OCTA is a fusion of iconic off-road legacy and modern-day innovation.
At the heart of the Defender OCTA lies a formidable 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, which churns out a staggering 626 bhp and 800 Nm of torque. Mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters and sport mode, this mild-hybrid (electric + petrol) powertrain offers instant response and seamless gear shifts. With such firepower, the OCTA rockets from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4 seconds, and boasts an electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph.
Built on Land Rover’s trusted AWD architecture, the Defender OCTA features a full-time four-wheel-drive system, electronic differential lock, and advanced terrain management technologies like Hill Descent Control, Hill Hold Assist, Traction Control, and Electronic Stability Program (ESP). Whether navigating rugged terrain or cruising on the highway, the OCTA ensures supreme control and confidence.
The Defender OCTA is designed to tackle every road with poise. It features a double wishbone front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension, both integrated with coil springs and electronic air suspension for enhanced comfort and adaptability. With ride height adjustment capability, the OCTA adapts to all types of terrain effortlessly, from city streets to mountain trails.
Braking is equally robust, with disc brakes at the front and ventilated disc brakes at the rear, supported by ABS, EBD, and Brake Assist for optimum stopping power in all conditions.
The Defender OCTA commands attention with its bold dimensions: 4813 mm in length, 2064 mm wide, and 1995 mm high, with a generous 3023 mm wheelbase. The body is reinforced with rugged black/grey cladding, body-coloured bumpers, alloy wheels, a shark-fin antenna, and optional roof rails and sunroof, highlighting both its functionality and sophistication.
Adding to its visual appeal are LED headlights and taillights, LED fog lights, rain-sensing wipers, and puddle lamps. The 360-degree camera, along with front and rear parking sensors, ensures parking and maneuvering are effortless, even in tight urban environments.
Step inside, and the Defender OCTA greets you with a dual-tone interior, available in Khaki, Ebony, Light Cloud, and Lunar finishes. It features leather seat upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, heated and ventilated front seats, and 16-way electrically adjustable seats for both the driver and front passenger, each with three memory presets.
The second-row seats offer manual headrest adjustment, and the rear seats come in a 40:20:40 split configuration with flat-folding capability, enhancing cargo flexibility. Other highlights include a cooled glovebox, ambient lighting, rear armrest, metallic scuff plates, and electronic tilt & telescopic steering adjustment.
In the tech department, the Defender OCTA is nothing short of impressive. It features an 11.4-inch infotainment touchscreen that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, integrated music system, Bluetooth, USB, AUX, GPS navigation, and voice command functionality. Rear passengers are treated to a dedicated display screen, adding an extra layer of luxury for long drives.
Advanced features like remote start/stop for AC, remote lock/unlock, and remote sunroof operation via mobile app bring smart convenience to your fingertips.
Safety remains a top priority in the Defender OCTA, which proudly boasts a 5-star Euro NCAP rating. It is equipped with six airbags, TPMS, ISOFIX child seat mounts, electronic parking brake with auto hold, seatbelt warnings, and overspeed alerts. Additional driver-assist features include Automatic Emergency Braking, Emergency Brake Light Flashing, and High-beam Assist.
Though the SUV skips a few premium ADAS features like lane departure warning and blind-spot detection, it makes up for it with robust core safety and drive-assist systems.
With its blend of brute power, refined luxury, and modern tech, the Land Rover Defender OCTA redefines what a performance SUV can be. It’s a vehicle that appeals to adventurers and luxury enthusiasts alike—those who want a machine that performs as beautifully in the wild as it does in the city.
Backed by a 3-year/100,000 km warranty, the Defender OCTA is not just a statement on wheels—it’s a fortress of innovation, built for those who dare to go beyond.
