Triumph Motorcycles has officially launched the much-awaited Triumph Scrambler 900 in India, and it’s already creating a buzz among classic motorcycle enthusiasts and modern-day adventurers. With its timeless scrambler styling, responsive performance, and practical versatility, the Triumph Scrambler 900 delivers a thrilling yet accessible riding experience for urban roads and off-road detours alike.
Starting at ₹9.59 lakh (ex-showroom), the Scrambler 900 offers an unbeatable blend of British craftsmanship, retro charm, and real-world performance.
At the heart of the Triumph Scrambler 900 lies a 900cc liquid-cooled, 8-valve, SOHC parallel twin engine with a unique 270° crank angle. This configuration gives the bike a distinctive rumble and refined power delivery, perfect for both city commuting and weekend getaways.
The engine produces 65 PS (64.1 bhp) at 7,250 rpm and a muscular 80 Nm of peak torque at just 3,250 rpm. This low-end torque ensures instant throttle response and smooth acceleration even in stop-and-go traffic, while also offering enough punch for relaxed highway cruising.
True to its name, the Scrambler 900 carries a rugged retro design that pays homage to Triumph’s scrambler heritage. From its twin high-mounted brushed stainless steel silencers to the spoked wheels and minimalist bodywork, every element of the bike oozes classic charm with a modern twist.
The brushed stainless steel 2-into-2 exhaust system not only enhances the motorcycle’s aesthetic appeal but also produces a satisfying, throaty note that complements its adventurous persona.
Its tubular steel twin-cradle frame adds to the bike’s sturdy build and provides the durability required for light off-road riding, while retaining a clean and minimal look.
Equipped with a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel, both wrapped in Metzeler Tourance tyres, the Scrambler 900 is designed for mixed terrain performance. Whether you’re riding on city streets or gravel roads, the setup offers balanced handling and traction.
The bike features a 41mm front fork with cartridge damping and 120mm of travel, matched by twin rear shocks with adjustable preload — giving it the ability to handle uneven terrain without compromising rider comfort.
Braking duties are handled by a Brembo 4-piston front caliper with a 310mm floating disc and a Nissin 2-piston rear caliper with a 255mm disc, both equipped with ABS for added safety.
With a seat height of 790 mm, the Scrambler 900 remains accessible to a wide range of riders. The upright handlebars (835 mm wide) and well-padded seat provide a neutral, comfortable riding posture that suits long distances and daily use.
While the design stays true to the scrambler legacy, the technology inside is refreshingly modern. The instrument cluster features an analogue speedometer with an integrated LCD multifunction display, offering all essential readouts without disrupting the classic look.
Other notable features include:
The Triumph Scrambler 900 is as practical as it is stylish. With a wet weight of 223 kg, it feels planted on the road while still manageable in tight spaces. The bike requires minimal upkeep, thanks to a long service interval of 16,000 km or 12 months, ensuring peace of mind for riders focused on the journey ahead.
The Triumph Scrambler 900 is the perfect fusion of retro aesthetics and cutting-edge engineering. It’s ideal for riders looking for a bike that delivers rugged style, versatile performance, and everyday usability. Whether you’re a fan of old-school scramblers or a new rider exploring the segment, this motorcycle offers a compelling package that stands out in the middleweight category.
At a starting price of ₹9.59 lakh, the Triumph Scrambler 900 isn’t just a motorcycle — it’s a statement of individuality, character, and the enduring appeal of the open road.
